UMW Upcoming Events

WELCOME TO LINDA STRANSKY

United Methodist Women (UMW) Sunday is coming up on November 27. The Spring City UMW are excited to announce that the morning message will be given by Linda Stransky, the Executive Director of the Jubilee Project in Hancock County, TN. The Jubilee Project is a mission that helps the people of Hancock County meet their spiritual, economic, social and physical needs. Linda has a special energy that drives her to success to this ambitious mission project. All will be blessed to hear what the Lord is doing in Hancock County through His people. See you there!

UMW BOOK CLUB

The Book Club meets November 15, at 6:30 p.m. “The Greatest Gifts” is the topic, and Peggy Bowman will lead the discussion. Even if you do not get to read the book, come and listen to the discussion and learn what the book offers.

Peanut Butter Sunday

We again have an opportunity to help those in our community who are out of work or may not be able to work. Just purchase a jar or two of peanut butter each time you shop between now and November 20th.

This may be the only protein some of Spring City’s children will have all day long. Bring the peanut butter with you to church any Sunday between now and November 20th and put in the Peanut Butter Boxes at the side and front entrances. These will be distributed through Our Daily Bread.

We collected 257 jars of peanut butter last year, and they were all used within 3 months. Our goal this year is to meet or beat the jars given last year.

If God has blessed you with the ability to feed your family, please join us in helping others.

Youth Hunger Banquet

You are invited to a Hunger Banquet sponsored by our Youth. The banquet will be immediately after the morning service on Sunday, November 13.

The Hunger Banquet Objectives are:

  1. to raise awareness of extreme poverty in our world.
  2. to raise money to help here at home and overseas.

If you plan to stay and participate, we need you to do two things.

  1. Make sure you fill out the form in your bulletin or call the office for reservations.
  2. Please remain seated in the sanctuary when the morning service is complete on the 13th. You will be receiving instructions on how to proceed to the banquet from one of our youth.

While this is a free meal, a donation box will be available. The youth will use these funds to help fight hunger both here and overseas. For further information, please contact Krissy Tallent.

“Gifts for Teens”

MORGAN SCOTT CHRISTMAS GIFT DRIVE HAS CHANGED FROM TOYS TO “GIFTS FOR TEENS”
