Homecoming 2018

Summer is passing quickly, and as fall nears, so does our annual Homecoming celebration. This year we want to target a special group that we would like to invite to“come home” in 2018! We all know how important our children and youth are to our church family, so we want to issue a special invitation to those who, as children and youth, helped to make Spring City United Methodist Church (SCUMC) such a wonderful place over the last forty years. If you attended Sunday School, youth group, or Sunday morning services, WE WANT YOU!

Join us on the morning of September 9 in our 11:00 a.m.service and then afterward for a meal in our church’s Family Life Center where we will celebrate you! You will have an opportunity to visit with your Sunday School Teachers, youth group leaders, your old buddies, and church members who loved you then and would love to see you now!

If you can attend, RSVP to our church by August 31, 2018. Include your name, contact information, and the number of guests you will bring. Also, please share this letter to other SCUMC “alumni” who you may have in your contact list. We want to make this a Homecoming that we will always remember, so do your best to come home and see us on September 9!

Throughout the month of January we will be studying “Snowed Inn.” During this wintry series, kids will learn about the promises God made through stories in the Bible. They will see that God is not just a promise maker, but a promise keeper!

Join us WEDNESDAYS at 4:30 in the FELLOWSHIP HALL.

Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the season of Lent – a time when we prepare for Easter by observing a time of fasting, repentance, and spiritual discipline.

The Ash Wednesday Service helps us to realize the full meaning of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will receive crosses from ashes on our foreheads as a sign of our sorrow and repentance of our sins.

Join us for our Ash Wednesday Service in the Sanctuary at 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018, with Pastor Dale officiating.

Community Meal

A meal will be served at 5 p.m., Thursday, February 15th, in the Family Life Center. Our doors will be open to serve our community.
