Nursery – The nursery is provided for Sunday School and Sunday Worship. It is located in the Fellowship Hall that is attached to the sanctuary. Children are always welcome in our services, and the nursery is as desired by parents.
Spring Kids – The focus of Spring Kids is to teach God’s word at a level that children can understand and apply to their lives. Children Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to attend. Spring Kids meet Wednesday evenings at 5:30 in the Family Life Center. Children will have the opportunity to put biblical concepts into action through music, games and teaching.
Mother’s Day Out – This is a program created for preschoolers ages 2-5. A secure, constant, and caring atmosphere allows our program to be more than a baby-sitting service. M.D.O.’s goal is to guide children in experiences that build good self-image, foster creativity, teach appreciation for the world, and develop awareness of all persons as God’s children. M.D.O. operates from 8:30-2:30 every Tuesday and Thursday during the school year. The children participate in physical activities, learning activities, crafts and music.
Vacation Bible School – Each summer our children and many children from the community come to VBS. A new theme each year engages the children (and the adults!) in learning about God in a whole new way. Children are shown the love of Jesus Christ and taught Bible stories through skits, music and movement, crafts, Bible study, and fun that make it a memorable experience for all who participate. Memory verses every day teach the children valuable Scriptures, and multiple take-home materials reinforce their experiences during the week. Dinner is provided every evening, and each participant decorates and receives a T-shirt that represents the VBS theme. The children and their families are invited to a special VBS celebration at the Sunday worship service, where the participants get to demonstrate what they learned throughout the week through songs and movement. Everyone is welcome!
Easter Festival – Every year, SCUMC holds an Easter festival for our children birth through 5th grade. There are games, snacks, prizes, and an Easter egg hunt – fun for the whole family!
Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat – Each year, SCUMC holds a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat event for all the children of the community. See the Community Outreach page for more information.
