UMW Book Club

Come Join the UMW Book Club on February 20th at 6:30 PM in the church library. We will explore A House In The Sky by Amanda Lindhout and Sara Corbett. This book was an Amazon Book of the month in September 2013. The common remark in most of the reviews was, “Once I started reading this book I could not put it down”. Hopefully you will enjoy the true story of how a young girl’s desire to explore the world led her to being kidnapped in Somalia. As the story is told about the horrible torture she endured you will be amazed at how she searched for forgiveness not only for her captors but also for herself. This is a very intriguing story that will make you think about the courage that this young lady possessed as well as make some wonder about the risk taking that resulted in her being captured. It’s also a study of the part that all religious extremism plays in wars and atrocities.
