Welcome to the Spring City United Methodist Church! The purpose of this website is to acquaint you with some of the basic beliefs of the United Methodist Church and the program opportunities of the Spring City United Methodist Church. We share a warm and caring fellowship, and invite you to join us for worship, study, and growth in the service of this community, the world at large, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our church is an exciting place; we focus on worship, missions, and helping our neighbor. If you ask someone here to pray for you, they do. As a faith community, we laugh together and cry together. This is a place where people can belong. As a church, we seek to be rooted in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible is relevant for today and try to apply it in every area of our lives. We believe that people matter to God - that YOU matter to God. That’s why we’d love for you to be a part of our family of faith.
If we can be of service to you, or if you have questions about who we are as a church, please feel free to contact us from one of the ways on our Contact page.
We believe in God, Creator of the world; and in Jesus Christ the Redeemer of creation. We believe in the Holy Spirit, through whom we acknowledge God’s gifts, and we repent of our sin in misusing these gifts to idolatrous ends.
We affirm the natural world as God’s handiwork and dedicate ourselves to its preservation, enhancement, and the faithful use by humankind.
We joyfully receive, for ourselves and others, the blessings of community, sexuality, marriage, and the family.
We commit ourselves to the rights of men, women, children, youth, young adults, the aging, and people with disabilities to improve the quality of life; and to the rights and dignity of racial, ethnic, and religious minorities.
We believe in the right and duty of persons to work for the glory of God and the good of themselves and others, and in the protection of their welfare in doing so; in the right of property as a trust from God, collective bargaining, and responsible consumption; and in the elimination of economic and social distress.
We dedicate ourselves to peace throughout the world and to the rule of justice and law among nations, and to individual freedom for all people of the world.
We believe in the present and final triumph of God’s Word in human affairs, and gladly accept as our commission to manifest the life of the gospel in the world.
