2017 Homecoming
2017 HOMECOMING AT SCUMC will be Sunday, September 10, 2017, with Pastor Dale, preaching. A covered-dish luncheon will follow the worship service in the Family Life Center. The meat, bread, and drinks will be provided by the church. Please bring your favorite dish with enough to share. Please fill out the form at the bottom Sunday bulletin and place it in the offering plate or email the church office. We need to know approximate numbers for planning for Homecoming.
Peanut Butter Sunday
It’s that time again when we have the opportunity to help those in need in our community by purchasing a jar or two of peanut butter each time you shop between now and Sunday, October 1st. This may be the only protein some of Spring City’s children may have all day.
Bring the peanut butter with you to church any Sunday between now and Oct. 1st and put in the Peanut Butter Boxes at the side and front entrances. These will be distributed through Our Daily Bread. The jars of peanut butter we gave last year were all distributed within 3 months. Our goal this year is to exceed the jars given last year.
Ohana Youth Yard Sale
All donations are accepted, even clothes. Drop off in the Fellowship Hall from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings.
For the pick up of large items, contact Kathy Heimel through the church office.
New Bible Studies
The new Beth Moore Bible Study for Women this fall is “David – Seeking a Heart Like His.” This study begins Tuesday, September 12th, at 10:00 AM, in the Fellowship Hall, and will be facilitated by Wendy Thurman. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board, and books are available in the office ($16.00).
There will be an evening bible study for women beginning Wednesday, September 13 at 6:00 PM, in the Celebration classroom, facilitated by Susan Maddux. In this six-session video Bible study, Anne looks at the life of Daniel and unpacks the prayer he prated in Daniel 9. Unlike the everyday now-I-lay-me-down-to-sleep kind of prayer, this is a prayer birthed under pressure. A prayer in which the prayers return to the Cross and repent of sin. A prayer that changes hearts and nations. – Even in our world today. The first session is a study workshop and will last 90 minutes; each session after that will be 1 hour.
